V&A was retained by the County of Kauai Department of Public Works Wastewater Management Division to conduct coatings condition assessments for 4 wastewater treatment plants and 19 sewage pump stations. 

Coating Assessment - County of Kauai

The purpose of the assessment was to determine the condition of existing protective coating systems and to develop recommendations for a future protective coating system maintenance program.  Structures were rated according to V&A’s VANDA® Concrete and Metal Indices, paint samples were analyzed for lead, and dry film thicknesses were measured. A total of 87 structures were evaluated. The repairs to the structures were prioritized and a Coatings Management Program was created for the County for the next ten years.
