V&A was retained by the Clark County Water Reclamation District to conduct condition assessment and rehabilitation design of two secondary clarifiers, a dissolved air flotation thickener facility, and the replacement of the waste activated sludge pumps at the Laughlin Water Reclamation Facility.
Condition Assessment
High O&M costs, corrosion issues and projected service life associated with the secondary clarifiers, and the dissolved air flotation thickener facility were the primary concerns of the project. In addition to the issues determined by the district, V&A conducted a thorough physical condition assessment of the facilities to determine if further rehabilitation was required for the facilities to meet the original design intent. V&A presented a design report documenting the condition assessment findings and associated recommendations for improvements, identified the design criteria, provided a preliminary estimate of probable construction costs.
