V&A was retained by the City of Sugar Land to conduct a preliminary engineering study to identify the existing conditions and odor control needs at five lift stations in the City.
V&A conducted a field investigation that included grab sampling for various odor compounds, including dissolved sulfide, and continuous monitoring of atmospheric hydrogen sulfide and differential pressure for a one-week period. Ambient monitoring was also conducted at one particularly sensitive site. A fan test was conducted at each lift station to determine the optimized ventilation rate for odor containment. Using the field investigation results, V&A is conducting sulfide modeling, ventilation modeling, and dispersion modeling for each site and will provide recommendations for an odor and corrosion control strategy for each.
