V&A provided corrosion engineering services for the 142-mile pipeline associated with the Vista Ridge Regional Supply Project (VRRSP). The pipeline will deliver water from the Carrizo and Simsboro aquifers to San Antonio. V&A designed the cathodic protection systems for 54 and 60-inch diameter concrete, bar-wrapped, steel-cylinder pipe (per AWWA C303) and polyurethane-coated, welded-steel piping (per AWWA C200).
V&A conducted a current demand test on a portion of the pipeline that was already completed and used the results to reduce the number of rectifiers required for the impressed current cathodic protection system. V&A also provided corrosion engineering design services at three pump stations, the terminus connection point to San Antonio Water System (SAWS), and a well field.
